That’s the worst phrase to hear around this time of year. There are a few variations on this:
“I might need to give you some money to get me money from Comic-Con”, “There’s something I want from Comic-Con”, etc. It is always in the tone of “I’m giving you the money, so get this for me.” It’s hilarious when people who have never been to Comic-Con ask you to buy them something from Comic-Con for a couple of reasons. They think you can just walk up to any booth and buy any exclusive item in a matter of seconds, plus they think you just want to walk around the Con carrying said item with you for the rest of the day. Sure, I paid $100 for this ticket, I think I want to waste my time worrying about picking up your item. At least be polite and ask me to get you something if I have the time, which I’ve done before, but I’m not going to go out of my way to do it.
